This is an informal demo/review of the Clearmask for those considering it as an option for adults working with D/deaf or hard of hearing kids, or who rely on facial cues/speechreading at school. I don't have any vested interest in any particular option, but I wanted to share my experience and thoughts, as a person who works with kids who use sign language.

May 2021 addendum: Now that I've been vaccinated, I've started working with kids in person again, and I'd like to add that although the mask is fine for several hours when speaking conversationally, I've discovered that when I'm teaching, and speaking in a loud voice to a whole classroom, there is much more condensation, and the inside of the mask gets pretty wet by 30 minutes, though it's not hard to have a 2nd one on hand and swap them out.

March 2022 addendum: I recently ordered another box of masks, having given away most of my first box, and the new ones are MUCH more fog-resistant than the ones I bought last year, and are only a little wet after an hour. They seem identical in all other respects.

(As of spring 2022, a box of 24 masks cost $77 including shipping from theclearmask.com with a 3-day turnaround time. They also now make kids' masks, and another style of adult masks I haven't tried.)
