34-equal Luma: a little sentimental

Описание к видео 34-equal Luma: a little sentimental

Not my best work, but thought I'd dive back into 34-equal again for a little spin. Definitely inspired by some Japanese animation soundtracks.

I really like the tuning, but still need to get used to the layout and breaks in the chains of fifths to be able to play a little more freely. This layout is 2 rings of 17 (repeated with some enharmonic equivalence at the top and bottom of the keyboard), though it's often hard to remember that I have e.g. A# and not Cb, D# and not Fb, or that indigo Gb to red A gives a ~4:5 major third, or red E to indigo Ab a ~5:6 minor third. In essence this mapping combines leapfrog, superpyth and schismatic, so it's a bit of a mess!

My book "Microtonality in 55 keys", a guide to intervals, scales, chords on generalised keyboards and how to use them in a wide range of microtonal tunings, is available on my website here (follow the PayPal link)
