Katemcy Rocks, known as K2, is a rare gem located in the western edge of the Texas Hill Country near Mason. There is no other place in Texas quite like it. With its large outcroppings of granite, multiple changes in elevation and unearthly terrain, it is quite simply, a little slice of Moab here in Texas.
The bluebonnets carpeting the fields along our route through the Hill Country seemed to lead us all the way to the gates of Katemcy Rocks and reminded us Spring was finally here.
We had such a great time! There were 14 rigs in our group (13 JKs and one LJ) Everyone made it through a full day of wheeling K2's ubiquitous rock strewn terrain unscathed. We can't wait to come back!
