Many of you know that we love providing real estate advice to our clients, but we also love making homemade tomato sauce.

So we did a thing. We created a mini documentary called, “HOMEMADE.” It is about the culture of making tomato sauce here in Calgary, Alberta, Canada.
And we want to know what you think of it.

In 2019, we let a camera crew get behind-the-scenes access to the tomato sauce making operations of the Stante/Giammarino/Bussoli families. You get a taste of the tomato sauce making traditions that go back decades, and likely, centuries. It’s a story that is rooted in the town of Fossacesia, in the region of Abbruzzo, Italy, where some of our ancestors farmed and fished along the Adriatic Sea, including Anna Stante, and Luisa Bussoli, sisters from the Giammarino family and matriarchs of the Stante and Bussoli families, respectively. These family traditions were brought to Canada decades ago by our elders who fled war-torn Italy, and are now continued by our younger generations.
