Halsema Highway- Sagada to Baguio, Part 1 (Sagada to Buguias):

Halsema Highway the third time around- twice Southbound & once Northbound. This road though not the best in terms of width nor condition has a that magic that keeps pulling at you. If you love mountain driving, then this must be in your bucket list.

There was a landslide at Sabangan area at during the day of travel, so we must double back upon reaching Sabangan Town Hall & took the Tagudin - Cervantes - Sabangan Road up to Abatan. Here we took the Mabaay - Guinzadan - Abatan Road due South to Halsema Highway in Mabaay, Bauko. Road condition in Mabaay - Guinzadan - Abatan Road is good. Since we were not in a hurry, this diversion is welcome to get to see some more areas of Mountain Province.

The following Points of Interests were either visited or along the way:
• Sabangan is a 5th class municipality in the province of Mountain Province with 15 barangays

• Bauko is a 4th class municipality in the province of Mountain Province with 22 barangays

• Buguias:
Is a 3rd class municipality in the province of Benguet. The municipality is home to the mummy of Apo Anno, one of the most revered and important folk hero in Benguet prior to Spanish arrival.

Buguias is primarily an agricultural town. It is one of the leading producers of highland vegetables, especially carrots in the province of Benguet. Most of the vegetables produced in the town are sold at the La Trinidad Vegetable Trading Post or are marketed to other parts of the country.

Road condition is generally good except those areas which have land slide.
