Описание к видео Why the No-Call Was Correct: NFHS Rules Explain Henry Clay and Ashland Throw-In

A disputed no-call late in a high school basketball game between Henry Clay and Ashland drew significant attention, but the decision aligns with National Federation of State High School Associations (NFHS) rules.

Following a made basket and a subsequent timeout, Henry Clay was awarded a baseline throw-in. During the sequence, the inbounder bounced the ball on the out-of-bounds area and briefly dribbled before releasing the pass, prompting criticism from the Ashland broadcast crew, which described the play as the worst no-call it had ever seen.

However, NFHS Casebook Rule 9.2.2, Situation D, explicitly states that a player may legally bounce the ball on the out-of-bounds area prior to making a throw-in. Because the play followed a timeout after a made basket, Henry Clay was entitled to run the baseline, and the inbounder was not required to remain stationary at a designated spot.

Under those conditions, the officials correctly ruled the play legal, as no violation occurred during the throw-in sequence.
