Could Robert England Return As FREDDY?? Jason Blum Says YES...

Producer Jason Blum comments on whether he could get Robert Englund to play Freddy Krueger again. Englund played the infamous horror icon in eight feature films, starting with 1984's A Nightmare on Elm Street. The character was created by legendary horror director Wes Craven and became one of the most popular horror characters in Hollywood history. Known for his burnt appearance, fedora, green-and-red striped sweater, and blade-fingered glove, Freddy Krueger was a child murderer who returned from the dead to terrorize his victims through their dreams.

Englund further portrayed Freddy in the Freddy's Nightmares anthology horror series, which lasted two seasons. His last appearance as the character in a feature film was 2003's Freddy vs. Jason, which pitted Englund's Freddy against fellow horror icon Jason Voorhees, played by Ken Kirzinger. England recently reprised the role of Freddy for the ABC sitcom The Goldbergs in 2018, playing to the show's comedic nature and serving as the last time the actor appeared in make-up as Freddy Krueger to date.
