What Does The Bible Have To Say About Raising Godly Kids?

1. Kids Need Parents Who Teach Them

"Hear, O Israel: The LORD our God, the LORD is one. Love the LORD your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. These commandments that I give you today are to be upon your hearts. Impress them on your children. Talk about them when you sit at home and when you walk along the road, when you lie down and when you get up. Tie them as symbols on your hands and bind them on your foreheads. Write them on the doorframes of your houses and on your gates." Deuteronomy 6:5-9 (NIV)

"Be careful, and watch yourselves closely so that you do not forget the things your eyes have seen or let them slip from your heart as long as you live. Teach them to your children and to their children after them." Deuteronomy 4:9 (NIV)

2. Kids Need Parents Who Protect Them.

"And anyone who welcomes a little child like this on my behalf is welcoming me. But if you cause one of these little ones who trusts in me to fall into sin, it would be better for you to have a large millstone tied around your neck and be drowned in the depths of the sea. "What sorrow awaits the world, because it tempts people to sin. Temptations are inevitable, but what sorrow awaits the person who does the tempting." Matthew 18:5-7 (NLT)

3. Kids Need Parents Who Provide For Them.

Spiritually (Read Proverbs Chapters...1-9)

Physically
"If anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for his immediate family, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." 1Tim 5:8 (NIV)

Emotionally
"Fathers, do not nag your children. If you are too hard to please, they may want to stop trying." Colossians 3:21 (NCV)

How Do I Reach Out To My Adult Kids Who Are Far From God?

Praise God For Who They Are

Rely On God To Bring Them To Their Senses

Accept Them As God Would

With Patience
With Love
Without Compromise

"But while he was still a long way off, his father saw him and was filled with compassion for him; he ran to his son, threw his arms around him and kissed him.
