Today Mojang released Minecraft Snapshot 17w15a - a bugfix snapshot for Minecraft 1.12 with colored beds and some changes to connected blocks! #minecraftemployee

If you want to play this pre-release, choose the "Snapshots" profile in your launcher. Keep in mind that snapshots are unstable - they can break your world if you are unlucky - keep backups!

Changes in this version:

Beds:
Added colored beds, crafted them with coloured wool or dying a white
Beds are bouncy now

Narrator:
Added a toast notification for toggling the narrator
Added the option to toggle narrator between: off, chat & system, chat only, system messages only

Crafting and recipes:
The book crafting recipe now exists again
Made the "recipe unlocked" toast show which items were unlocked, and appear when you've actually unlocked new recipes
Fixed all recipes being removed when switching to adventure mode
Fixed repeated key events being disabled for crafting search
Fixed clicking on crafting recipes in spectator mode moving items to the crafting grid
Fixed the crafting recipe list showing "1/0 pages" when no recipes are unlocked
Fixed clicking on a recipe or on the crafting book to close the help also clicking into the inventory
Fixed some issues with the crafting table UI on non-16:9 instances
Fixed the doLimitedCrafting gamerule disabling the ability to combine used tools
Fixed taken recipes staying available until the player relogs
Fixed the recipe book not rendering the player correctly during interaction

Duplication:
Fixed being able to craft "incomplete" recipes using alternate ingredients
Fixed being able to drop items when you clicking while hovering over the recipe interface
Fixed a duplication issue with the doLimitedCrafting gamerule
Fixed a duplication bug in the "Click and hold for more" menu and a text message bug
Fixed a duplication bug using the recipe book

Advancements:
Added description text to advancements
Some advancements have been renamed
Adventuring time is back
Multiplayer players no longer get kicked when picking up an item that unlocks a new advancement
Advancements now work on servers
Custom advancements in the world folder now use folder name instead of "minecraft" namespace
F3 + T now reloads advancements
Fixed there being an "Obtain Armor" and "Shiny Gear" advancement notification for every piece of armor

Blocks:
Snow can now be placed on or build up on upside down slabs/stairs
Torches can now be placed on the backside of stairs
Glass panes, fences and other connected blocks now connect to the back of stairs

Mobs:
Parrots now spawn more frequently
Parrots now dance for all players
Parrots no longer go to players' shoulders in spectator mode
Parrots on shoulders no longer disappear when flying up in creative or spectator mode, or swimming upwards
Parrots on your shoulder no longer look darker when there are many items in your inventory
Fixed flying parrots spinning around in circles rather than flying in a specific direction
Parrot imitations now show up as imitations on subtitles rather than original sound
As soon as the player takes damage any parrot on his or her shoulders fly off (check water, lava)
Tamed dogs no longer attack tamed cats or parrots

Bugs:
Fixed the background not becoming darker in most GUIs
Fixed the statistics page not loading
Fixed the credits not being shown when leaving the end for the first time
Fixed tool info not showing up in most GUIs
Fixed the STDOUT spam when hurting/killing mobs
