Sciences Po’s School of Journalism had the honor of welcoming Line Vaaben, journalist and “existential editor” at Politiken (Denmark), for the inaugural lecture of the 2025 academic year.

In her talk, “The European Art of Storytelling”, Line Vaaben reflects on narrative journalism, human-centered reporting, and what distinguishes European storytelling traditions from American ones. Drawing on her career, from covering traumatic events and intimate testimonies to creating innovative formats, she makes a powerful case for journalism that connects through empathy, sensory detail, and existential depth.
