CNAC Pilots Head Back to China

Описание к видео CNAC Pilots Head Back to China

A half-hour documentary on a group of China National Aviation Corporation (CNAC) pilots who were part of the renowned "Hump" aviators who flew over the treacherous Himalayas from India to Western China in order to deliver vital supplies to the American Volunteer Group (AVG) who were defending China against Japanese bombers during World War 2. The report features interviews with CNAC Captains Moon Chin, Peter Goutier, Cedric Mah and Fletcher Hanks and it follows their journey back to China in 2007 when they re-visited old haunts and airfields in Hong Kong, Yunnanyi, Dali, Lijiang and Zhongdian (aka Shangri-la). The organiser of this incredible journey back to China for the CNAC pilots was Wong How Man, the founder of the China Exploration & Research Society.

The China Exploration and Research Society (CERS) was founded in 1986 and is a non-profit organisation. It has numerous conservation and historical projects relating to China and its bordering areas. Here's a link to its website:
