You might ask yourself, "Why not return these elephants to the wild?" Well, there are issues with that too. Some of these elephants have substantial injuries, and some have never even been in the wild. The likelihood of survival would be slim. There's also the issue of there being no strict regulations over what happens to them in Thailand.
