Описание к видео Testing an analog IF amplifier made with ceramic filters on 455 KC (VLOG) & more

Please read the description first.

Only a VLOG, where I show how to test an IF amplifier, made for 455 KC.

In this case with ceramic filters (thus no tuning necessary) but the same test setup applies for IF Amplifiers where coil filters are used, that have to be “tuned in’ to the best reception results (Superheterodyne radio setup, with IF filters and 1 diode AM detection).

IF filters made to receive broadcast AM radio stations more or less always have a bandwidth of 8 KC (8000 Hertz), so a sharp passband to make the superheterodyne radio very selective, so that 2 radio stations that are sending out their music (or whatever) on (almost) the same frequency on MW or SW can be received properly: thus completely separated from each other.

Reason: the small bandwidth of the IF filter (say 8 KC) acts as a kind of “window” through which we look at radio frequencies on MW or SW.

The IF filter (with only 455 KC ceramic filters) that I show here is in this (24 Nov. 2021) video:
   • Making a sharp IF filter on 455 KC part 4:...

The test oscillator (with no modulator by the way) for 40 KC to (say) 11 MC is here:
   • FET test oscillator sine wave with very go...   (AA)

It is modulated via a A-stabile Muvib on (say) 600 Hertz. That modulation circuit is not published here and now, but this circuit is usable:
   • Useful non stabile multivibrator for frequ...

Send the output signal of that A-stabile Muvib. via a resistor of 100-200 Ohm to the wiper of the potentiometer of the before named test-oscillator (AA). It is AM modulation, thus the current of the test oscillator (40 KC-11 MC) must be effected via that 500/600 Hz signal.

Other properly working analog Superheterodyne SW radio (with coil filters in the 455 KC IF amp) for 2-12 MC (many links in the description there) is here:    • Very simple superheterodyne SW radio (2-10...

My You Tube channel trailer is here:    • Radiofun232 on YouTube, find working & tes...

Type there the keywords that you like (e.g. radio/audio/amplifiers/test/filter/) in the “looking glass” = search function” and give “enter”. Via that you can find specific video’s (under the say 1500 published).

When you search, search always “NEWEST FIRST” to get the right overview. You can also search via the “looking glass” on my Channel trailer via keywords like ”audio”, “radio”, “amplifier”, “filter”, “Shortwave”, “transistor”, “FET”, “oscillator”, “generator”, “switch”, “schmitt trigger” etc; so the electronic subject you are interested in.

My books about electronics & analog radio technology are available via the website of "LULU”, search for author “Ko Tilman” there.

On my LULU books channel there is: also a circuit of a simple analog superheterodyne SW receiver for AM radio reception between 2 MC and 12 MC.

https://www.lulu.com/search?adult_aud...

I keep all my YT videos constant actual, so the original video’s with the most recent information are always on YouTube. Search there, and avoid my circuits that are republished, re-arranged, re-edited on other websites, giving not probable re-wiring, etc.

Some persons try to find gold via my circuits. I take distance from all these fake claims. I cannot help that these things happen. Upload 20 April 2024.
