Montevideo (full name: San Felipe y Santiago de Montevideo) is the capital, principal port, and most populous city of Uruguay.

Located in the southern part of the country, it overlooks the northern bank of the Río de la Plata and is the southernmost capital of all America, precisely at 34°54'21.06" south latitude and 56°11'29.04" south latitude west longitude[5].
