At IMMORTAL SONGS FAMILY SPECIAL all contestants sang along with a family member. Chi Eul sat alone as he was estranged from his family at the time due to their disapproval of him pursuing a singing career. He chose to sing FATHER - a song about father and son who drift apart and the pain of that separation. Throughout rehearsals he cried and could never complete the song.
His parents attended this performance, and it was the first time they had seen him on stage.
