Garmin is closing out the year with one of its biggest smartwatch updates yet — and Forerunner users are getting a serious upgrade.

Public Beta Version 16.11 has arrived for the Garmin Forerunner 570 and Forerunner 970, bringing 34 new changes and improvements. The update introduces a redesigned Battery Manager, a brand-new Sleep Guidance glance, expanded training plans, and dozens of quality-of-life enhancements.

This update also adds:

New timed, cardio, and strength training plans

Additional glances for weight, battery details, favorite teams, and health behaviors

Expanded voice alerts and radar support

A new multi-sport activity mode

More alarm sounds, accessibility color filters, and richer course details

Exclusive features for the Forerunner 570, including Adventure Race mode and voice navigation

On top of that, Garmin has fixed a long list of bugs affecting Wi-Fi uploads, workouts, audio prompts, heart rate alerts, and language display issues.
