The new LoRa Basics™ Modem-E for LoRa Edge makes creating a solution for low-power, long-life asset tracking systems easier than it has ever been. The task is made simpler on the device side since both the LoRaWAN® protocol stack and localization API integrated into the LoRa Edge LR1110 chip. Semtech’s LoRa Cloud™ localization solver at loracloud.com is designed to work in coordination with the chip. Features also include: support of multiple localization methods, assisted and unassisted GNSS acquisition modes and streaming data with loss recovery. In this live workshop we will go over how an embedded application on the device sets up and performs a localization gathering event and sends that data to the Cloud. We will then show the steps that an application server follows to process and use the location data. Throughout this session we will review specific hardware examples and demonstrate capabilities that are repeatable with currently-available developer kits and open interfaces.
