Mark Edkins, the son of a Holocaust survivor, spoke to Middle East Eye at the pro-Palestine protest in London, voicing his continued opposition to the genocide in Gaza. Edkins, who said he has been marching for two years, criticised Western governments and media outlets for suggesting that the Israeli aggression has ended, saying; "if you destroy an entire society, drop the equivalent of several atom bombs on a small area, and wipe out housing, hospitals, and clean water systems, people will continue dying in their hundreds or thousands.

”Edkins said the devastation has deeply affected him, eroding his trust in the moral integrity of Western democracies. He expressed concern that the world is descending into a level of brutality not seen for decades, criticising what he views as the West’s complicity and moral indifference toward the suffering in Gaza.
