Chen Cheng-po (1895-1947)
● 1895- Born in Chiayi
● 1907- Entered Chiayi Public School (Now Chung-Wen Elementary School)
● 1917- Graduated from the Teacher Training Program at the Taiwan Governor-General’s Office National Language School.
● 1924- Entered the art teachers training program at Tokyo University of the Arts
● 1926- Work selected for seventh Imperial Academy of Fine Arts Exhibition
● 1929- Completed graduate studies at Tokyo University of the Arts

“Early Spring”, “Lucid Water”, and “Dye house in the Afternoon” exhibited at China’s first national art exhibition, organized by the education ministry
Appointed professor of western painting at Hsinhua Art University in Shanghai
● 1946- Elected to the Chiayi City Council
Served as a judge and exhibitor at the first Taiwan Provincial Art Exhibition
● 1947- Implicated in the 228 Incident, shot dead in front of Chiayi Train Station
