Laura Ling and Euna Lee say they never intended to cross a frozen river into North Korea on the day they were captured and began four and a half months of imprisonment in the communist country.
In an article posted on Current Tv's website, the journalists write that they followed a guide across the waterway separating China from North Korea and were only on North Korean soil for no more than a minute. They say they were firmly back on the Chinese side when they were nabbed by North Korean border guards. The reporters say they still don't know if they were lured into a trap.
The women had been sentenced to 12 years of hard labor for trespassing and "hostile acts" against the country. They were pardoned last month after former president Bill Clinton visited Pyongyang on their behalf.
