stretches from Fort William in the west, right up the coast by Skye, around the North Coast 500 to Durness and John O' Groats in the far north. It also runs up to Inverness and east out to Elgin, taking in Aviemore and some of the Cairngorms National Park.
The Highlands Scotland || Scottish Highlands
is a historic region of Scotland.Culturally, the Highlands Scotland and the Lowlands diverged from the later Middle Ages into the modern period, when Lowland Scots replaced Scottish Gaelic throughout most of the Lowlands. The Great Glen divides the Grampian Mountains to the southeast from the Northwest Highlands.

Callander : Callander is a small town in the council area of Stirling, Scotland, situated on the River Teith. The town is located in the historic county of Perthshire and is a popular tourist stop to and from the Highlands Scotland.
Glencoe : Glencoe is a village in western Scotland. It lies in steep-sided Glencoe valley, in the Highlands Scotland. The area is known for waterfalls and trails that climb peaks such as Buachaille Etive Mor and Bidean nam Bian. In the village, Glencoe Folk Museum occupies 18th-century thatched cottages, with displays on local heritage and the Glencoe massacre of 1692. Wildlife in the area includes red deer and golden eagles.
Inverness : Inverness is a city on Scotland’s northeast coast, where the River Ness meets the Moray Firth. It's the largest city and the cultural capital of the Highlands Scotland. Its Old Town features 19th-century Inverness Cathedral, the mostly 18th-century Old High Church and an indoor Victorian Market selling food, clothing and crafts. The contemporary Inverness Museum and Art Gallery traces local and Highlands Scotland history.
Lochness : Loch Ness is a large, deep, freshwater loch in the Highlands Scotland extending for approximately 37 kilometres southwest of Inverness. Its surface is 16 metres above sea level. Loch Ness is best known for alleged sightings of the cryptozoological Loch Ness Monster, also known affectionately as "Nessie".
Urquhart Castle : Urquhart Castle, a ruin, sits beside Loch Ness in the Highlands Scotland. The castle is on the A82 road, 21 kilometres south-west of Inverness and 2 kilometres east of the village of Drumnadrochit.
Fort William : Fort William is a town in the western Highlands Scotland, on the shores of Loch Linnhe. It’s known as a gateway to Ben Nevis, the U.K.’s highest peak, and Glen Nevis valley, home to Steall Falls. The nearby Nevis Range Mountain Resort has ski runs and forest trails. In the town centre, the West Highland Museum focused on regional life and history. To the northeast, Ben Nevis Distillery explores whisky production.
Newtonmore :Newtonmore is a village in the Highlands Scotland council area of Scotland. The village is only a few miles from a location that is claimed to be the exact geographical centre of Scotland.
Roybridge - Tulloch : Roybridge is a small village, that lies at the confluence of the rivers River Roy and River Spean, located 3 miles east of Spean Bridge, in Kilmonivaig Parish, Inverness-shire, Highlands Scotland and is in the Highland administrative area.
Ballachulish - Glencoe : The village of Ballachulish in Lochaber, Highlands in Scotland, is centred on former slate quarries.
Crianlarich - Tyndrum : Crianlarich is a village in Stirling council area and in the registration county of Perthshire, Highlands Scotland, around 6 miles north-east of the head of Loch Lomond. The village bills itself as "the gateway to the Highlands in Scotland".
