Gurudwara Paonta Sahib is a revered Sikh pilgrimage site located in Himachal Pradesh, India. It holds immense significance for Sikhs as it was the residence of Guru Gobind Singh, the tenth Sikh Guru, for over four years – the longest he stayed at any place in his lifetime.
The Gurdwara was built to commemorate Guru Gobind Singh's time here. During his stay, Guru Gobind Singh composed the Dasam Granth, a scripture of significant importance in Sikhism. The Gurdwara complex houses several historical landmarks associated with Guru Gobind Singh's life, including Sri Talab Asthan, where he addressed his followers, and Sri Dastar Asthan, where he held turban-tying competitions.
