This guitar piece starts with an easy to play melodic riff, which to me has the feel of open country and fresh starts. As it progresses it oscillates between this and a more reflective, nostalgic section, echoing that in life that fresh starts are not always what they are envisaged to be - on every journey there are unexpected challenges that need to be overcome and some things may need to be left behind as a consequence of that.

The rationale for my new “For the record" series of video recordings is to capture ideas that I *really enjoy playing*/humming (or singing!) along to, often work-in-progress/unfinished and warts and all, before I forget them and they disappear in a puff of smoke. They are all my own compositions/songs/works (as far as I am aware) and the reason for recording them in video form is so that I can remember how I played them (the fingering/fret work is important) and also so that should anyone be interested to play them one day then they could work them out!
