China released a Global Security Initiative (GSI) Concept Paper this week with the aim of eliminating the root causes of international conflicts and improving global security. Prof. Ken Hammond from New Mexico State University told CGTN Radio's Xu Yawen that China's global security initiative is "very welcoming" and many countries around the world will be "eager to embrace this." Hammond noted that China's position since the outbreak of the Ukraine crisis has been consistent, which is to resolve the conflict peacefully through dialogue and negotiation. But sadly, Hammond said, U.S. President Joe Biden has no interest in de-escalating the war in Ukraine, and they also don't want the conflict to come to an end anytime soon, because "as long as Russia is engaged, it's hurting" Moscow. That's the agenda of the American elite, according to Hammond.
