Turning 41 Means More Than Turning 40

I’m about to turn 41, which feels pretty wild. Seven years ago, I didn’t think I’d even make it to 40. If you've seen my series on my battle with Leukemia, you'll understand why.

I’ve been reflecting on the number 40 a lot recently. It’s not just a sign of “getting old.” I grew up hearing a lot of stories where 40 had a big role—40 days of rain for Noah, 40 years the Israelites wandered the desert, Jesus fasting for 40 days. It seems to symbolize struggle and testing.

So, why am I making this video now instead of at 40? Well, I didn’t have this channel back then. But, more importantly, after the struggles that 40 represents, 41 feels like a turning point. In the Bible, it’s the moment after the struggle—when the flood ends, the Israelites enter the Promised Land, or David defeats Goliath.

For me, 41 means hope and renewal. I’ve faced my own battles—health issues, financial setbacks, personal failures—but I’m choosing to see this new year as a fresh start. I’m ready to move forward, trusting that things will get better. Thanks for being here with me on this journey.
