Welcome to Padge Plays! Indie Edition

This time around we are the deliverer of souls, the Grim Reaper himself, DEATH INCARNATE. And we're working for the man in Death and Taxes by Placeholder Gameworks!

In Death and Taxes you're tasked with keeping a regular 9 to 5 job in a large corporation, execept your mundane task is to choose who lives and who dies with certain criteria set by the big man upstairs. (No, not God, but Fate! And his cat...) At the end of each day you get your daily wage which you can spend either in the emporium on the bottom level or at the bar if you fancy meeting you work colleagues before heading back to your room for the night ready to start the slog all over again in the morning. But all actions have concequences, and not all deaths are in vain or inconcequential... some could bring the end to humankind as we know it!! But hopefully not in the first week on the job, I'm trying to make a good impression around here.

So join me as I collect some souls and I collect a salary in Death and Taxes!


-- ABOUT THE GAME --

In this small Indie, short narrative-based game, you take the role of the Grim Reaper... on an office job. Your job is to decide which people are going to live or die. Your choices will affect the world around you. Keep the chaos away or foil plots to destroy the world and rise through the ranks of Reapers all the way up to MIDDLE-MANAGEMENT, wow!

Death and Taxes is a game in the vein of narrative-based indie titles, such as "Papers, Please", "Reigns", "Beholder" and "Animal Inspector", to name a few. The consequences of your choices are yours to bear, while the mystery of your incarnation awaits revelation!

Talk to your boss
Get monies
Buy stuff from Mortimer’s Plunder Emporium(?)
Decorate your desk
Do some paperwork
Pet the cat??
Stare in the mirror and talk to yourself
Don’t let the existential dread set in
DONT LET IT SET IN (ONLY THE FATE OF HUMANKIND IS IN YOUR HANDS, IT'S 100% OK)
Listen to that one really catchy tune in the elevator
