In this video, I cover the three types of landing pages you should test in your e-commerce store to maximize your return on ad spend and lower acquisition costs.

First, I explain why you need dedicated landing pages rather than just sending paid traffic to your generic website pages. Your site is designed to appeal to visitors from all traffic sources and buying stages, so the messaging can be diluted and less relevant. When you're spending money on ads, you want to deliver a hyper-targeted message that resonates with what the visitor has seen in your ad creative and addresses their stage in the buying journey. Landing pages allow you to present this hyper-relevant pitch to convert more of your paid traffic into customers.

The three essential landing page styles I recommend testing are:

1. The Hero Style Page: The most common and versatile style, featuring a hero image/video, benefit-focused headline, trust-building elements like testimonials, and strong calls-to-action. Adapt the content to align with your ad campaign and audience.'

2. The Listicle: An increasingly popular content-driven format, presenting 5-7 educational points or product benefits. Vary the angle between explaining why the visitor needs a solution like yours or why your specific product is loved.

3. The Article-Style Advertorial: The most editorial approach, telling an engaging story about the product, founder, or a customer's experience. Establish credibility and sell more subtly within an educational narrative.

However, I emphasize that simply using these landing page templates isn't enough - it's the quality and relevance of the content, copy and visuals that will make them convert. It's crucial to hit the right customer pain points and position your product as the ideal solution.

Landing pages are an iterative experiment, so keep refining your messaging as you drive targeted paid traffic until you find the winning formula.
