"We received more than two billion dollars from our partners specifically for the PURL program. We will receive additional money in October, I think we will have somewhere around 3.5-3.6 billion (dollars). The first two packages will be 500 million. As far as I understand your question - what will be in these packages? These packages - I will not give all the details - will definitely contain missiles for Patriots and for HIMARS."

STORYLINE:
Ukraine's President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced on Wednesday that his country received over two billion dollars for NATO's new support program.

Speaking at a joint news conference with EU's Roberta Metsola in Kyiv, Zelenskyy said Ukraine is estimated to receive additional funds in October that will assist it as the war grinds on.

The funds will come under the Alliance's Prioritized Ukraine Requirements List (PURL) initiative.

According to Zelenskyy, the first package alone will contain "missiles for Patriots and for HIMARS".

Zelenskyy has been urging European leaders to make the continent safe and further support by building an ambitious air defense umbrella.
