Holy cow it has been a LONG time since BK had a range trip! Getting quite rusty! See description below for a lot more info on this video:

Initial trip to the range with my new Mossberg 940 JM Pro
12 Gauge Semi Auto Shotgun

That first failure on the 940 was kind of worrisome. It was literally one of the first few rounds out of a brand new gun so I'm hoping it was just some break in issue. The main ammunition for this shotgun is going to be cheap/under-powered "target" loads and there were no failures whatsoever with that ammo.

Everything seems loose on the 940 out of the box. Going to strip her down and get some Loctite on anything that can take it. The mechanism is different than that of the Benelli M4, so there is no option to "ghost load" and get an extra shell in there. That's a bit of a bummer but 9+1 in a semi auto shotgun is incredible so it's not a deal breaker IMHO. I'll continue to mess around with it to see if there is some way to make it work.

The 940 came with a stock extension and I suggest it if you are anywhere near my height. The length of pull was a bit too short, which really impeded operation. Another solution would be an aftermarket buttpad/recoil pad, though the recoil isn't bad on this shotgun. I'd like to see an aftermarket option to mount a foregrip, I believe it would greatly add to the stability of the firearm, especially in rapid fire situations.

I'll add at the end here that the "gold" accents are really more of a mustard color that look spray painted on... Once again not a deal breaker, the shotgun actually looks great in person, but something to note.

This is one hell of a shotgun, and even though they are in completely different classes, this is a LOT of gun for less than half the cost of a Benelli M4.

Failures:
940 = 1 out of 86 rounds (on it's first range trip out of the box)
M4 = 2 out of 36 rounds (with target loads that it always chokes on)
