Marameo is a modern Italian restaurant located in Melbournes CBD. The name itself is a bit of fun, meaning to tease, ‘thumb one’s nose at’. 🤪

The menu offers a small selection of Italian dishes including mostly antipasti and pasta. If you’re super hungry I suggest opting for either their Chef’s Choice Sharing Menu ($79/98pp) or Set Menu ($95pp) options.

We however, visited for their new special Wednesday Nights: Pasta for Two menu. For $50pp you are treated to a delicious three-course sharing menu and half a litre of Italian red or white wine. This was great value! 🍝

✔️ Focaccia
✔️ Mixed Salumi - a generous serving of quality prosciutto, mortadella and salami.
⭐️ Baked Ricotta Spinach Conchigle Pasta - absolutely delicious and so generous. Not on the regular menu so don’t miss out! Crispy, came piping hot and the sauce is perfection.
➖ Chocolate Bunet - A mix between a pannacotta and a mousse. We thought this may be too polarising for a set menu, personally we weren’t fans.

We also ordered a few more dishes to try, from the a la carte menu:

✔️ Oysters, Fennel Chardonnay Vinigarette - super fresh!
➖ Wagyu Cannoli, Proscuitto Salt - interesting “powdered sugar” alternative, lacked flavour.
✔️ Scallops - beautiful char on the top.
⭐️ Tuna Carpaccio - amazing, unique curing!
⭐️ Cheesecake - now this was amazing. The perfect salted caramel sauce.

Super moody and vibey, the staff were friendly and attentive. I hadn’t visited since 2022 and it had greatly improved since then! I still can’t stop thinking about that pasta a week later. 🤤

Saturdays: Pasta Party! $100pp for a pasta filled banquet, bottomless Prosecco, beer and wine + a spritz on arrival.
EOFY Express Lunch: $59 Monday-Friday 12pm-3pm shared starters and a selected main dish.
