Under 11s Development Day 9s Tournament

Under 11's in Hull and surrounding areas take a break from their usual fixture schedule in order to play in this 9s tournament with rules specifically designed to promote skills and development:

Try = 4 points

Try with a Makinson finish [ball grounded with full body off the floor]= 2 bonus points

- Further rules and information:
No scrums. When an infringement occurs [knock on / forward pass] play will be restarted at the point of the infringement with a play-the-ball.

- If the ball enter touch, Play is also restarted with a play-the-ball 10 metres in-field from where the ball entered touch

- No kick of touch or goal. When a team is awarded a penalty then play must continue from where the infringement took place.

- Ball caught on the full in goal from a kick will result in a 10m tap controlled tap restart on zero tackle - The referee will make where he judges for the tap to be taken.

- No goal kicks

- The team who concedes the try will restart with a play-the-ball on the half way line
- Captains will Rock-off [rock, paper, scissors] to decide which team starts the game with the ball
- 1 on 1 tackles - If a player makes a 1 on 1 tackle, the next tackle is last!

- 14 minutes per game 7 minute per half with 2 minute half-time breaks
