Madd e Lazim:
*Madd e Lazim* occurs when a *madd letter* (ا, و, ي) is followed by a *sukoon* (ْ) or a *shaddah* (ّ) in the same word or at the beginning of the next word. It is called *lazim* (meaning "necessary") because it must be elongated for *six harakat* (six counts), no matter the type. There are two types of Madd e Lazim:

1. **Madd e Lazim Kalimi**: This occurs when the madd letter is followed by a sukoon or shaddah within the same word.

Example:
*دَآبَّة* (The madd on the letter "ا" is elongated because it is followed by a shaddah on "ب").

Madd e Leen:
*Madd e Leen* happens when a *waaw sakin* (وْ) or a *yaa sakin* (يْ) is followed by a sukoon in the next letter. This type of madd is softer and is usually elongated for *2 to 6 harakat**. Madd e Leen is called **leen* because of its "soft" pronunciation, often appearing when there is a natural soft sound in the recitation.

Example:
*خَوْف* (Here, the "وْ" is followed by a sukoon in "ف", so it is elongated as Madd e Leen).
