Trek 5200 USPS Edition (2002) - Serial #WL1666532 - Team USPS - Navy/Racing Blue "American Carbon Legacy"

Born in Trek's Waterloo, Wisconsin facility, this 5200 USPS Edition represents a defining era in American cycling history. Built with OCLV 120 carbon technology, this frame shares the iconic USPS team colors while offering enthusiast-race level performance. The WL prefix in the serial number confirms its proud American heritage, handmade in Waterloo during Trek's golden age of carbon innovation.

The Ride OCLV (Optimum Compaction, Low Void) 120 carbon technology was Trek's performance-oriented carbon manufacturing process, delivering an ideal balance of performance and comfort. While its professional-level sibling, the 5500, was raced by the USPS team, the 5200 brought much of that same technology to dedicated cyclists, offering race-worthy performance in a more accessible package.

Workshop Wisdom The 5200 marked Trek's mastery of OCLV carbon manufacturing. Each frame required over 40 hours of handwork in the Waterloo facility. This technology and construction method set standards that influenced carbon frame design for decades to follow.

Condition Overall excellent condition with very minor scuffs. Paint, clearcoat, and decals remain in excellent shape. The most notable wear point is on the head tube where the cable housing makes contact with the frame. Chainstays are in great shape, protected by the original steel guard plate.
