Douglas War

This story was inspired by true events.

My Great grandfather, being one of the survival of the fierce battle between the Brits and a tiny local village of Onicha in Mbaise Dynasty, during the colonial Era, narated the first hand story.

It was a popular story of a missing explorer, Dr. Stewart, who during one of his usual expedition got lost in the deep jungles of Africa.

After his "mate" Captain Douglas - an officer in the Royal Naval force - discovered what had happened to him, the consequence was to annihilate the perpetrators. But, out of frustration on the humiliation and difficulty the Brits encountered because of the overwhelming bravery and heroism Onicha natives displayed against them, the Captain deviced a means for total annihilation of all the fighting aged men. Those who survived, including Mr Peter Onwukanjo, would tell this story to the upcming Generations!
