"Water that Heals" travelogue

"Water that Heals" is a travelogue, filmed by a documentary film team headed by Suresh Menon, that travelled across the State of Punjab for 17 days from 24 July 2022, documenting 97 new installations of AMRIT - the nanotechnology-based arsenic and iron community water filtration plants.

The crisp and informative documentary reveals the AMRIT, that is now providing arsenic and iron free water to over 1.3 million people every day. From over 1600 community installations and over 20,000 home units installed across the country, we now know that the technology is affordable, sustainable, and scalable. It works at 10 L per day in the form of home units and as 25 KL to 1 ML per day as community units, at a cost of under 2.5 paise per litre of clean water, including all aspects, such as equipment, consumables and maintenance.

The Government of Punjab has an ambitious program "Towards Arsenic-Free Punjab" by which it wants to address all the water quality problems across the state. We believe that this effort will ensure that Punjab is arsenic free very soon.

The nanotechnology-based community water filters were developed by the Pradeep Research Group at IIT Madras, headed by Prof. Thalappil Pradeep.
