Hello everybody, this is Jeff at etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a look at this Converter Ball Adjustable Ball Mount for two inch hitches, has a 5,000 pound gross towing weight capacity. Now, this adjustable ball mount is ideal if you're gonna be using one vehicle to tow trailers with varying coupler heights. This will function as a rise, or you can flip it over to get a drop to help you level your trailer with your tow vehicle. You do need to remember your tow vehicle and trailer needs to be within two inches of each other for proper weight distribution when you're towing. Now, this ball mount here will slide into your two inch by two inch square trailer hitch receiver, and it attaches with a standard 5/8 inch diameter hitch pin.
Now, the hitch pin is not included. We do sell those separately if you need one or if you already have a 5/8 inch diameter one, it'll work in here. Now, this does include the two 5/8 inch diameter pins down here that'll hold the ball platform to the shank. Now, the shank will provide a drop range of four and a quarter inches to ten and a quarter inches or a rise range of three inches to nine inches. And just to demonstrate that right now, you can see I have it in the maximum drop.
So when you measure the drop, it's gonna be from the top of the ball platform to the top of the shank. So in this measurement, it's gonna get you ten and a quarter inches. If you take out your pins and clips, take out that clip, we'll take out this clip, slide our pins out. Once we've got our pins out, now if you've put this all the way up to there and then pin it into place, right there, that's your highest or your minimum drop that's gonna measure from the ball platform to the top of the shank has four and a quarter inches. Now if you put it in the rise position, that would be if you flip it totally over this way and install this into your hitch, and then you turn this over and put it in the highest position, which would be right there, that'll get you a maximum rise of nine inches.
And that's, again, from the top of the shank to the top of the ball platform. If you put it all the way down here, a minimum rise that'll get you is from here to here of three inches. If you notice these adjustment holes, they do adjust in two inch increments. That's center to center between each holes. So what I'm gonna do is go ahead and put back into our drop position.
Once we get it in our maximum drop position go ahead and put our clips back in there. Okay, there we go. Now the gross towing weight on this is 5,000 pounds. The tongue weight capacity of 500 pounds. This is constructed of a weather resistant coated steel. Now the ball hole where your hitch ball will be connected, this diameter of the ball hole is one inch. Now the hitch ball's not included. Again, we do sell that separately on our website. Last thing I do is give you a few measurements. The overall length from the end of the shank to the end of the ball platform here is 15 and 5/8s inches. And the distance from the center of this hitch pin hole to the center of the ball hole is gonna be right at 12 inches. But that should do it for the review on this convertible adjustable ball mount for two inch hitches, has a 5,000 pound gross towing weight capacity.
