Michigan Creek Campground is a first-come, first-serve campground located in Pike National Forest near Jefferson, CO and it happens to be one of our favorites for its beauty and proximity to a variety of fun activities. Its typical open season runs from May to early October. There are well-maintained vault toilets available on-site, as well as picnic tables and fire rings. Campsites are well-spaced with some being treed and private and others being more open with expansive views. A picturesque mountain stream runs adjacent to the campground and nearby activities include fishing, paddling on Jefferson Lake, wildlife viewing, hiking and exploring national forest roads. Additionally, the town of Fairplay is nearby for shopping and dining.

Fees: $15.00/night

Elevation: 10,100 ft

Driving directions: Take US 285 to the town of Jefferson and turn west onto County Road 35. Travel about one mile and turn left onto County Road 54 and follow the road to the campground.
