1981 Honda C70 Passport (13) - Cleaning the carburetor

Описание к видео 1981 Honda C70 Passport (13) - Cleaning the carburetor

In this clip I’m disassembling the carburetor and glad that I decided to take it apart rather than wait until after trying to start the bike. The bowl is absolutely filthy and the main jet and slow jet are completely blocked.

Before starting to dismantle, I checked the number of turns for the external throttle stop screw and the pilot screw, so that I can check these when reassembling the carb.

I then start dismantling by removing the manifold screws and the O ring. Then moving on to the throttle stop screw and the pilot screw. Then removing the float bowl and it is filthy in there! Removed the O ring from the float bowl followed by the float and float valve, which will be replaced with a new kit.

Just look at the build up on that main jet and slow jet are completely blocked. The slow jet cannot be removed but I’ll blow this out with the air compressor

Once disassembled, the parts are placed into an ultrasonic cleaner

The reassembly process is essentially the reverse of the disassembly process
