India signed a $5.43 billion deal with Russia in October 2018 to procure five S-400 regiments. The first regiment was delivered in November 2021, with subsequent deliveries expected to complete by August 2026. The Indian Air Force (IAF) deployed its S-400 systems, dubbed "Sudarshan," during the 2025 India-Pakistan conflict. These systems successfully intercepted and neutralized multiple drone and missile threats launched by Pakistan, including attacks on bases in Awantipora, Srinagar, Jammu, Pathankot, Amritsar, Ludhiana, and Bhuj. Apart from India and Russia, other countries operating the S-400 system include China, Belarus, and Algeria. In November 2024, reports indicated that Russia supplied S-400 systems to North Korea in exchange for North Korean troops to support Russian military efforts in Ukraine.
