Leader: Baba Yetu, Our Father, Africa is the cradle of our creation. From the sun’s
rising in the east to its setting in the west, may you be praised in all the land!
People: The earth is the Lord’s and all those who dwell within it.
Leader: We praise you, Baba Yetu, for the magnificence of Africa’s landscapes, for the
richness of her cultures, and for the strength and beauty of her people.
People: Let the light of the Creator shine upon her nations, bringing hope, healing,
faith and peace.
Leader: We join our hearts and voices together to celebrate, honoring the ancient
mothers and fathers, and lifting up all the generations who came after them.
People: May our songs echo through the Ngong Hills, and across the savannas,
deserts and jungles, so that you, Baba Yetu, may ever be glorified.
†Opening Prayer Pastor Randy May
Baba Yetu, Our Father, we come before you with hearts full of hope and gratitude for
the beautiful continent of Africa. We lift up its people, its lands, and its future into your
loving hands. We ask for your protection over every nation in Africa. May your peace
reign in places of conflict, and may your justice prevail wherever there is injustice.
Strengthen its leaders with wisdom and integrity so that they may guide their nations
towards prosperity and unity. We pray for all families and communities, that they may
find comfort in your presence. Provide for their needs, heal their wounds, and fill their
hearts with joy and resilience. Bless the children of Africa with opportunities to learn
and grow. May they dream big, knowing that they are cherished by you. Surround them
with love and protect them from harm. In Jesus name, we pray. Amen.
