Welcome to episode 90 of the Commander's Guild: "Karona Backgrounds" Every week I go to scryfall.com and randomly select a card, making a budget (under $100) commander deck around it and showcasing a gameplay video of the deck. This week I'm joined by Jacob (‪@OpalWave‬), Nina, and Mike.

This week's "random" card (it was actually suggested by Eric Hui on Patreon) is Karona, False God and she's also the commander. Something I learned recently is that the Backgrounds from Commander Legends: Battle for Baldur's Gate all have the phrase "commanders you own have..." on them. This means that when we pass Karona around the table, she keeps all of the abilities from our Backgrounds meaning that all we have to do to send an unstoppable monster to take down our opponents is make sure she can't attack us.
