ROUTEMASTER RML2335 Restoration

Описание к видео ROUTEMASTER RML2335 Restoration

RML2335 is our third major Routemaster overhaul for private hire company "Thisbus.com", it entered service as a green country bus in 1965 and in a few inaccessible areas of the body work the original Lincoln Green paint still remains.

To achieve the same finish as thisbus.com's RML2408 almost all of the equipment and fittings added in the 1990's modernisation program were removed, this included upper and lower deck fluorescent lighting that we replaced with incandescent light bulb fittings remanufactured to original specification. The six camera CCTV system which in this case was not a dummy system produced hundreds of meters of redundant cabling and the large steel box for housing the recording equipment was removed from the upper deck, serious panel damage was found at each location of the internal and external cameras. As a result of the behavior of a few of London's youth almost all of the glass was vandalised with etch-graffiti and required renewal, the mechanisms for the opening windows were overhauled at this point.

Evidence of past work on RML2335 was found beneath the upper front nearside corner panel, the date of 1st March 1978 probably relates to repairs to this area as seen in photo "http://www.tramway.com/overground/rou..." , Daz, Kev and Phil's work is obvious.
