Описание к видео Do you know about positional asphyxia?

Do you know what positional asphyxia is? It means that their position causes suffocation.

When babies are brand new, they don't have the strength ability to lift their own heads up. This means that in a car seat, if they drop their chin to chest and can't lift up their head, they could be slowly suffocating in their seat.

As a baby, Sylvie was delayed in head holding, and at one of her appointments, her oxygen levels were checked while she was in her seat, and they were below the safe level! After that day, I pretty much kept her at home until she could hold her head. If we had to go to her appointments, I'd always sit with her in the back, and I'd tip her seat back as much was safe to do so.

This is why it is super important to install a baby carrier correctly - the angle of the seat could literally save baby from suffocating.

Everyone's biggest car fear is a car accident, but not for me. I was always terrified that my baby would suffocate herself because of her motor delays 😭

She's totally fine now, and as you can see, she can put her neck into a safer sleeping position on her own.

This is also something to consider for any child with a disability that would stop them being able to control their own neck.
