Topaz Photo AI Review: Is it worth it in 2024? Noise Reduction, Image Sharpening

In this tutorial and review, I show you the main features of Topaz Photo AI v2.1.4. The latest version was released in December 2023.

Is it worth the $199 price tag? For most photographers, there are better options. However, if you need quick photo edits for your Instagram photos with AI retouching, then Topaz Photo AI 2 is a decent option.

What is Topaz Photo AI? It's an all-in-one noise reduction, sharpening, and image enlarger tool. There is also an option to refine your edits with masking. However, it doesn't replace Topaz Labs' dedicated tools of Topaz DeNoise AI, Topaz Gigapixel AI, and Topaz Sharpen AI.

If you want more control of your editing or need advanced settings, then it's better to use Topaz Labs' standalone tools.

Topaz Photo AI can also be used for face and portrait photos. The software removes minor blemishes, reduces wrinkles, reduces puffy eyes and dark circles, and smooths out the skin.

Topaz Photo AI also has to adjust lighting and balancing colors to help color-grade photos.

Topaz Photo AI also comes as a plugin for Capture One, Lightroom, Photoshop, Affinity Photo, Apple Photos, and other photography software.
