Описание к видео Snapmaker 2 A350 can mill aluminium but it's SO LONG and SO LOUD consider it can't. Poor CNC overall

Short clip of the snapmaker 2.0 milling 1mm thick aluminium. This 125x75mm part takes close to 2h and resonates as hell at 78dB standing behind the plexiglass door!

This machine is great for a first do-it-all, but it clearly is not designed for CNC:
1) The stiffness of the tool head perpendicular to its rail (about X axis) is very low - so as illustrated here, it bangs around each time the teeth of the mill dig through, more and more with Y speed.
2) The Software is not equipped with an automatic levelling procedure, so it's EXTREMELY tedious to manually probe corners and shim accordingly - AND even if it appears level within +/-0.1mm after much time spent shimming, this does not compensate for uneven bed or stock surfaces... Believe me, I've engraved a 50x25cm text with this thing on Aluminium, it took me 3 days. Same problem on PCBs (which I have also done) !
3) The bed is only attached at two locations, one on each side rail. so this effectively creates a pivot point here again about the Y axis - although this may be avoided by making parts which are centred on the bed and not extending too much to the front and the back.
4) The CNC part of the Software (Luban) is clearly a gadget. It is not possible to drill, only follow trajectories from a DXF, and the outline option does not work. So I had to offset the profile myself by half a mill radius, use the Follow mode, and drill MANUALLY in JOG mode. The alternative was to load the DXF in a PCB designer, export the Excellon drill file, and translate it into GCode using Flatcam - equally long in my case, too long in any case. I guess you could use Fusion360 or SolidWorks CAM but this should come as standard!
5) It is not possible to modify the spindle rpm. If you happen to excite a resonance (happened to me to excite the whole frame using a .2mm 45° V-bit at 0.3mm depth), you are stuck with it.

So in conclusion: DON'T BUY THE SNAPMAKER THINKING IT WILL BE A GOOD CNC TOO. It's a bonus, and pretty much only for deep wood etching or cutting.

2mm mill
0.05mm depth step
150mm/min XY feedrate
300mm/min plunge feedrate
Shimmed to +/-0.1mm parallelism, but apparently 0.2mm/min planeity.
