1/2 a small swede, turnip or rutabaga - cut into chunks

1 Teaspoon salt
1 Teaspoon black pepper
1/2 Tablespoon Worcester sauce
568ml (20 oz) Thick beef gravy

1 Tablespoon cornflour
4 Tablespoons cold water
100g (4 oz) Frozen peas
