How to Inject Local Anaesthetic before IV cannulation

Описание к видео How to Inject Local Anaesthetic before IV cannulation

I've had a lot of viewers request a video on how to inject local anaesthetic prior to inserting a cannula.

This is a pretty straightforward technique, but as always, do it first under supervision and with appropriate patient consent and checking for allergies etc.

I use 1-2% lignocaine as it is fast acting.
a 3ml syringe and 27-30G needle.
I inject abbot 0.1ml into the most superficial part of the skin. It will usually cause blanching of the skin when it's done correctly.
