Contribution of your Research
Since a PhD research is a scientific discovery of new knowledge, other researchers in the related field will benefit from your findings. Your thesis will narrow or bridge the gap in the literature with regard to the topic of your research. Others will be able to apply your findings in their attempt to solve a similar problem. As such, your investigation and findings must be genuine and original. Outline a list of contributions that you think your findings add to the literature. Your contributions must be specific and focused. Provide significant evidence indicating that your research is worthy of investigation.

The following are some examples of how a PhD research can make useful contributions.
Methodological Contribution
The findings of this research can provide guidelines for future research on the methodology of acquiring Arabic as a foreign language. The findings of this research will also contribute towards the development of a paradigm such as Constructivism, thus adding to the literature on existing research methodology.

Empirical Contribution
The findings of this empirical research can be prototyped by other researchers and used as a guide for their investigation. This research also assists instructional designers in choosing an effective interactive multimedia program suitable to their needs.

Theoretical Contribution
The findings of this research offer a possible solution for the enhancement of traditional methods of teaching and learning in Malaysian teaching condition. As such, this research assists Malaysian educators to overcome the shortage of well-trained teachers in Malaysian classrooms by providing them with an effective interactive multimedia courseware which is student- centered, theoretically sound, and field-tested.

Data Collection Contribution
Interviews, observations, questionnaires, checklists and pre-and post-tests of this research provide invaluable information that will be helpful to future researchers as well as instructional designers in choosing a feasible Arabic Language multimedia instructional design that meets their needs.
