We love chow mein and lo mein, to be honest any noodle dish rocks, hard! So today we have this very simple recipe for chow mein with sauce, sometimes in the UK, its found on menus like this “Chow Mein (WET)” which has always been a weird way to write it if you ask me, but who cares, still tasty! This version isn’t that common as many places won’t add the oyster sauce or the garlic, which isn’t bad, its just different, often when trying to make a Chinese takeout dish at home and it doesn’t taste the same, often it because you’ve been taught to over complicate it by “chefs” that don’t know or don’t want you to know, remember when trying to replicate Chinese takeaway food, the keys is less is more.

The chicken
1 sliced chicken breast

2 tsp seasoning sauce
1/6 tsp white pepper
PINCH of 13 spice

1 tsp veg oil
Mix together in a bowl and make sure the chicken is nicely coated

1/3 sliced onion
Hand full chopped sweet heart cabbage
Hand full chopped fine beans
Hand full bean sprout

Garnish
Chopped chives or Spring onions
Black bean Chilli oil (optional)
Fresh Chopped Chillis (optional)
