JC here with the chart of the week.

It was quite a weekend for us.

We got a ton of data, and that suggests it’s time to buy bonds.

The S&P 500 and Global 100 Index BOTH hit our upside objectives over the last week.

And throughout February and into March (at the very least) we should see some volatility and further deterioration in interest rates.

That means a flight to safety coming out of stocks.

Those investors need to go somewhere, and I’m thinking bonds.

As interest rates fall, bonds should continue to go up.

So, what’s the trade?

The most liquid bond etf is TLT; the iShares Barclays 20+ Yr Treasury. Bond (NASDAQ: TLT).

That’s the 20 year bond.

We want to own TLT above 142.

That means ONLY above 142. If it’s below that, we’re not interested.

Our price target is 153.

This is happening now. With all the rollover in oil and copper, and with volatility spiking, I think we see a big rush to bonds, and TLT looks like a clear winner.
